Analysis of laws and how they pertain to the pistol permit applicant
The first step in obtaining a security guard registration card from the NYS Department of State. This course provides the student with a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. The passing of an examination is required for successful completion of the course
This course must be completed within 90 days of employment as a Security Guard. The course provides student with detailed information for duties and responsibilities expected from them.
Must be completed within 12 calendar months from completion of the 16 hour OJT and annually thereafter. The course is designed to provide students with updated and enhanced information on duties and responsibilities in the security industry.
The first step in obtaining a special Armed guard Registration card from NYS Dept. of State. To attend the course students must have a Valid NYS Pistol Permit pursuant to the NY penal section 400.00 and a valid NYS Security Guard Registration Card. Students must have a duty type weapon, holster and magazines if carrying a semi-auto. To successfully complete course, students must pass a written exam regarding article 35 and qualify at a range with a handgun.
STUDENT RESPONSIBLE FOR OWN AMMO
For Armed Security Guards: Must be completed within 12 calendar months from the completion of the 47-hour Firearms Training Course and annually thereafter. To attend the course students must have a Valid NYS Pistol Permit pursuant to the NY penal section 400.00 and a valid NYS Security Guard Registration Card.
STUDENT RESPONSIBLE FOR OWN AMMO
NYS Department of State, Division of Licensing Services is responsible for the registration of all Security Guards. All questions concerning registration must be directed to 518-474-7569.
